We know switching to a new medication packaging system can raise questions. Below are answers to some of the most common things patients and caregivers ask about AdherePac, from how refills work to what happens when medications change.

You will receive a call from me each month to review your medications. Because we know that managing multiple medications for yourself or a loved one can be complicated and stressful. Sorting and organizing pills, managing refills, making multiple trips to the pharmacy, and keeping track of what you should be taking–it’s easy to get confused and overwhelmed. Health Park Pharmacy provides an EASIER & SAFER way to take your medications & we call that system AdherePac.
Your medications will be delivered to you each month in individual packets, which sorts and packages doses by day and time. You will also have the support of a personal pharmacy team to manage your medications and ensure they’re working properly.
Once you sign up, we’ll handle the rest. We’ll make sure your insurance is compatible before transferring your prescriptions to Health Park Pharmacy. Our team will contact your current pharmacy directly and will transfer your prescriptions to Health Park Pharmacy. Going forward, we’ll proactively manage your refills, schedule new prescriptions to your AdherePac and your health coach will call you each month, approximately 1 week before your next delivery to discuss any potential regimen changes with you.
Your doctor can call, fax, or e-scribe new prescriptions to us directly. If your new prescription is a medication that should start right away, we’ll send an interim supply to last until your next AdherePac arrives. For medications that should start immediately, like an antibiotic, feel free to fill these at a local retail pharmacy. If it’s not urgent, we will wait to start the medication until your next AdherePac starts to decrease confusion. Your new medication will be “short filled” to synchronize with your other medications & will then become part of your monthly AdherePac moving forward.
“As needed” medications are filled in traditional pill bottles rather than your AdherePacs. These medications are not filled routinely because we don’t know how frequently you will need them. If you find yourself taking an “as-needed” medication on a scheduled or regular basis, your Health Park Pharmacy Team can help you decide whether it makes sense to get an updated prescription with scheduled directions. We also offer IV & Compounded medications if needed.
We charge your debit/credit card on file the day we send out your AdherePac for home delivery.
Your AdherePac medications are listed at the beginning of your roll, along with their descriptions. Feel free to tear that portion off and store it in your wallet for future reference. You will also receive a color list of ALL of your active medications with your first delivery from us. This list is a complete list of ALL of the medications you are taking, INCLUDING “as needed” medications. Keep this list with you and use it as a guide for future conversations with your doctor and your Health Park Pharmacy Health Coach!
If you have a medication with frequent changes, we may put it in a separate packet, or send it in a traditional pill bottle with clear instructions. We do this so that you can easily change your dosing without changing the rest of your AdherePac. We work closely with you and your healthcare provider to deliver the management solution that best fits your unique situation.
